Memories...
Sweet Gypsy Rose, CDX
She was born in March of ’83.
She was four months old when she came to me;
Not placed by a breeder smiling with glee,
Oh no, I found her under a tree!
No collar, no tags, she was covered with fleas,
Skinny and sick, a sad sight to see,
Was this puppy,
Abandoned, apparently.
So I gathered her up and took her with me
To the animal clinic and Doc Wright to see
What could be done for this little baby.
Well, he dosed her, and doused her, and dipped her (oh gee,
I remember the dollars – One Hundred and Three!).
"I think it’s a setter, a Gordon," said he,
"Will you keep her?" he asked. I said, "Oh no, not me!"
"You know I want only my show-sheltie."
Those were famous last words and have come to be
A joke among friends and family
Because we named her immediately –
"GYPSY."
She was nurtured and thrived on our TLC.
How funny and smart she turned out to be,
Why, she even got her X-CD
(Thanks to AKC for the ILP).
She changed our lives dramatically,
This Gordon pup we got for free,
For now we have a new puppy.
Guess what – It’s not a show-sheltie!
IN MEMORY OF
SWEET GYPSY ROSE, CDX
March 1983 - February 6, 1999
Where she came from nobody knows,
Our dearly beloved Sweet Gypsy Rose.
She's in Heaven now, with Gordons past,
Where she can once again run fast.
Have fun and know
We'll always love you best "Lulie-Bella".
From the rest of your Clan--
